AWAY DAY GUIDE | Crewe Alexandra

All the key information ahead of our final 2023/24 away trip

19 April 2024

Wrexham AFC are on the road for the final time this season, as Phil Parkinson’s side make the short trip to take on Crewe Alexandra in Sky Bet League Two action.

It is the first time that the Red Dragons have returned to action since securing promotion to Sky Bet League One against Forest Green Rovers last weekend.

It is set to be a packed out away end at the Mornflake Stadium, with over 1,600 Wrexham fans expected in the Ice Cream Van Stand.

If you can’t make the match, due to the change of kick-off time to 12:30pm, the fixture falls outside of the Article 48 window, meaning that both UK and international supporters can stream the fixture.

How to get there: Mornflake Stadium (CW2 3EB)

Crewe Alexandra’s stadium is located on Gresty Road, Crewe, CW2 6EB.

The Mornflake Stadium was opened in 1906, and can hold a total of 10,153 supporters.

Gates open into the ground at 11:15am tomorrow.

Official Supporter Travel

Please note, the buses will depart at 09:30am and there will be no provisions for those who arrive late.

Supporters must make note of their designated coach on the ticket and only board the coach they’ve been allocated to.

All under-14s must be accompanied on official supporter travel, and alcohol is strictly prohibited by law.

If you’re travelling by train:

The Mornflake Stadium is just a five-minute walk from Crewe train station. On average, a journey from Wrexham General will take 50 minutes.

Once you arrive at the train station, (you can see the ground), turn left out of the main entrance and walk down Nantwich Road & turn down the second left onto Gresty Road.

Then the ground is just a short walk further down this road.

If you’re travelling by car:

Crewe Alexandra Football Club can best be accessed by using Junction 16 of the M6, from either the north or the south.

Exit the M6 and follow signs for Crewe on the A500, heading straight over two roundabouts.

Once you hit the third roundabout, take a right onto Jack Mills Way (B5071) and follow the road straight along (straight over two roundabouts) to reach the stadium.

The postcode for your Sat Nav is CW2 6EB.

At this time there are no plans in place for any road closures on matchday, but this could change and supporters should check their route before travelling.

Parking

There is a 564-space pay and display car park at the ground which is £3.50 to park, as well as limited street parking in the vicinity.

If supporters decide to park within the surrounding areas, they must ensure that they do so respectfully and adhere to all signage displayed.

Ticket Collections

As all tickets for this fixture are eTickets/Print-at-home tickets, supporters should have received their tickets via email.

If presenting your eTicket on a phone at Mornflake Stadium, please ensure that your phone is well-charged, the screen is not damaged or cracked and that the brightness on your device is turned up.

If you decide to print your ticket at home, ensure it is A4 size and that it is not damaged. There will be no re-issue of tickets via Crewe Alexandra under any circumstance at the Mornflake Stadium.

Away Pubs

Cheshire Police have confirmed that there will be two designated away fan pubs; The Imperial on Edleston Road and Duke of Bridgewater on Wistaston Road.

Flags and Banners

Crewe have issued the following guidance, in line with the stadium’s ground regulations.

‘We know that many supporters like to display flags at football matches and the Mornflake Stadium will always be as accommodating as possible.

‘Flags are not generally confiscated, however the obstruction of gangways, access routes, exits, and entrances, health and safety signage and stairways are strictly forbidden.

‘Mornflake Stadium reserves the right to confiscate flags if they are very large or may compromise public safety, obscure someone’s view, a camera position or if a flag carries offensive, discriminatory, or inflammatory messaging.

‘Flags more than 250cm in size at their widest or longest section will not be allowed and flagpoles greater than 1m in length will not be allowed.

‘Any articles that could potentially be used as a weapon and/or compromise public safety are strictly prohibited.’

Supporter Conduct

Wrexham AFC wishes to remind supporters of the potential safety implications and consequences that may occur as a result of pitch incursions and other illegal and unacceptable behaviour.

As previously communicated, supporters who encroach on the pitch risk facing a Football Banning Order as well as a criminal conviction, while the Club itself could also face a fine for these actions.

There may also be other implications for the Club, including restrictions on future away ticket allocations. This is due to potential safety measures the home Club are required to put in place which impacts on the availability of seating.

The Club understands the emotion and passion that comes with attending the match as a fan but must reiterate that the safety of players, managers and supporters on both sides remains our priority.

The vast majority of fans have – and continue to – support the Club in an appropriate manner and are a credit to Wrexham AFC, but we will seek the strongest possible punishment for those who enter the field of play or engage in any other unacceptable behaviour.

As in line with the FA initiative, Wrexham AFC fully support the ‘Love Football Protect the Game’ program.

Wrexham AFC support the new measures that have been implemented to both improve participant and fan behaviour across the board.

Wrexham AFC operates a zero-tolerance policy for discrimination of any kind, and supporters are encouraged to come forward and report any incidents to the nearest steward, the Club, or Kick it Out.
