More than 4,000 supporters watched Cymru Women’s return to the STōK Cae Ras, as Jess Fishlock struck twice in a dominant Welsh win against Croatia.
Playing at the world’s oldest international football stadium for the first time since beating Estonia just weeks before the COVID-19 lockdown was announced in 2020, Cymru were cheered on by a crowd of 4,117.
Fishlock rounded off a fine team move to open the scoring after just six minutes – the first goal of new manager Rhian Wilkinson’s reign.
Winning her 149th cap, Fishlock then followed in her own shot when it hit the bar at the start of the second-half.
It was Fishlock who teed up Rachel Rowe just minutes later for Wales’ third, before Angharad James slid in at the back post to make it 4-0.
The match was the second international fixture at the STōK Cae Ras this season, after the men’s team also won 4-0 in North Wales – against Gibraltar – in October.
