Red Dragons claim three points on the road

14 February 2024

Wrexham AFC brought three points back to North Wales after a win on the road to hosts Sutton United.

In what was a hard-fought, first 45 minutes – Will Boyle found himself front and centre before slotting it home just seconds before half-time, giving the Red Dragons the advantage at the break.

Sutton started strongly after the break, with Phil Parkinson responding by introducing a revitalised front row of Paul Mullin and Ollie Palmer in the 72nd minute, replacing Jack Marriott and Stephen Fletcher.

Quickly wanting to spoil Wrexham’s charge, the home side converted a free kick – levelling the score with just 15 minutes to play.

But, just as he did in the reverse fixture, Elliot Lee had the final say – scoring in the 85th minute to seal all three points, and end the Red Dragons’ recent losing streak.
