First home defeat since the opening day of the 2023/24 season

Wrexham AFC found themselves losing at home for the first time since the opening day of the season back in August with a late winner for visitors Bradford City.

The Red Dragons were looking to change their fortunes following Saturday's defeat at Salford – something which they set out to do from the beginning starting at a rapid pace, challenging Bradford's keeper on numerous occasions. Despite a strong half, the scoreline remained level at the break.

It was similar going into the second half with the Red Dragons pushing to find the opener. As the game wore on, however, the visitors sniffed an opportunity and but for Arthur Okonkwo's fine penalty save would have taken the lead just before they eventually did.

After missing from 12 yards, however, Andy Cook made amends with a late winner - with Bradford not only ending Wrexham's winning streak at home but also becoming the first team to stop the Red Dragons scoring at the STōK Cae Ras for more than 50 games.
