Wrexham AFC earned three more points over last season’s promotion rivals Notts County when they visited the STōK Cae Ras for the first time since Ben Fosters iconic penalty save in the title race last April.
James McClean led his side out to face a familiar foe in the Magpies; in a first half with opportunities for both sides, it was in the 20th minute of the match when Steven Fletcher made the breakthrough with a smart finish.
Despite a determined charge for the home side and a strong opportunity missed when Will Boyle’s shot was deflected off the crossbar in the second-half, it was to be Fletcher’s goal that would stand the test of time – seeing out the rest of the match and giving the Red Dragons a second win of the week.
