Jacob Mendy could feature for The Gambia today, in their final group stage game of the Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON), against Cameroon (5PM Kick-Off GMT).
He made his debut in the competition for the Scorpions against Guinea, as Thomas Sainfiet’s side fell to a 1-0 defeat against Guinea on Friday night.
While the Gambia are yet to pick up a point in the Africa Cup of Nations so far, they head into the final match knowing that only victory will be enough for a chance of progression into the knockout rounds.
Mendy became just the second player in the Club’s history to feature at a major tournament as Dennis Lawrence featured for Trinidad and Tobago at the 2006 World Cup.
The fixture at the Stade de Bouake, will be broadcast on Sky Sports Football in the UK from 17:00 GMT.
