Red Dragons leave their mark portside

24 March 2024

Triumphant Wrexham took three points back to North Wales after beating Grimsby Town on the road, for a second consecutive away win.

In what was a windy trip to Cleethorpes, it took just five minutes for the Red Dragons to open the scoring - Andy Cannon taking the honours in Linconshire with a powerful low strike.

Cannon doubled the advantage after a fine counter-attack, running the length of the pitch as Wrexham turned defence into attack before the midfielder coolly finished across goal from Tom O'Connor's pass.

Paul Mullin, captain for the day, then added a third with an excellent volley to round off a dominant first-half. With the wind behind them after the break, the Red Dragons then put in a professional performance - only soured by Arthur Gnahoua pulling a goal back.

See how the Red Dragons roared in the blustery conditions in the gallery above, as captured by Club Photographer Gemma Thomas.
