Celebrating International Women's Day at Wrexham AFC

8 March 2024

Wrexham AFC are pleased to celebrate International Women’s Day 2024, and its theme to “Invest in Women: Accelerate Progress”.

We are proud to be an inclusive employer off the pitch, with women now making up more than one in four of our non-playing staff.

This covers a wide range of departments, with 26% of senior management, 40% of administrative support, 20% of the professional medical staff and 60% of retail staff all female.

On the pitch, we also celebrated becoming the first semi-professional women’s football team in Wales in the summer – with our record-breaking women’s team now looking forward to their first ever Bute Energy Welsh Cup final in May.

Wrexham AFC provides opportunities for all to progress on and off the pitch, from our off-field operations through to our playing and coaching staff at all levels.

Wrexham AFC CEO Fleur Robinson said: “We’re proud to be an inclusive employer, providing opportunities for all, at all levels of the Football Club.

“From office administration and day-to-day operations, to match-day staff, and to football operations, we have a fast-growing workforce off the pitch.

“We’re proud to be able to give everybody an opportunity to progress with the Football Club, in line with our ambitions for growth on the pitch too.”

To celebrate International Women’s Day, we will be joining Wrexham County Borough Council’s event at Tŷ Pawb.

We are also pleased to announce that Tuesday’s game at home to Harrogate Town will be our nominated Her Game Too fixture. For further details, please keep an eye on our official channels.
