LOAN WATCH | Scott Butler continues promotion push

18 March 2024

Scott Bulter helped Marine’s promotion push alive with a victory and clean sheet over the weekend as they defeated fellow play-off pushing Guiseley.

The 21-year-old defender has been an ever-impressive figure for Neil Young’s side ever since he arrived on Merseyside and his form has coincided with the Lilywhites.

Their victory against the Yorkshire side was bolstered as Macclesfield FC fell to a surprise defeat against Worksop Town.

He featured for 90 minutes in the win and that extended their position in the play-off places, before they take on Lancaster City at the weekend.

The only other played that featured this weekend was Billy Waters as he came off the bench to ensure Doncaster secured all three points on their travels.

Two first half goals for Rovers proved to be enough as they earned a 2-1 victory at the County Ground.

The striker came off the bench to see out the final twenty minutes, which saw them leapfrog Swindon and move into 18th.

Elsewhere, Owen Cushion was an unused substitute in Colwyn Bay’s defeat, Dan Davies was ruled through injury and Jake Bickerstaff wasn’t involved in the matchday squad.
