Wrexham AFC Women's historic cup run came to an end in the Bute Energy Welsh Cup final when they were beaten by Cardiff City Women, who claimed the domestic treble.
Despite a strong start for the Red Dragons - playing in the final for the first time - Cardiff City managed to break the deadlock, slightly against the run of play, after 16 minutes. Wrexham remained composed looking for a leveler - taking control of large parts of the game before the half-time whistle blew.
The Red Dragons fought on in the second-half controlling the game and creating chances. Wrexham's determination to find an equaliser was unwavering throughout - however a late goal for the Bluebirds sealed their victory in added time.
