Striker nominated for PFA Player of the Year Award

Congratulations to Paul Mullin, who has been nominated for the PFA League Two Fans’ Player of the Year.

Mullin, 29, scored 24 goals in 38 league games as the Red Dragons claimed promotion to Sky Bet League One.

As a result of his outstanding performance, he became the first player in history to win the Wrexham AFC Player of the Season in three consecutive years.

They finished in second place, securing back-to-back promotions after another history-making campaign for Phil Parkinson’s side.

The Liverpool-born striker bagged two hat-tricks over the course of the season, in two emphatic victories against Morecambe and Accrington Stanley.

After sustaining a punctured lung and three broken ribs in pre-season, Mullin returned to the scoresheet in superb style, with an overhead kick in front of a packed STōK Cae Ras.

He reached 100 goals for the Club in a crucial 2-1 victory at Colchester United, as he headed home from Ryan Barnett’s pinpoint cross.

The full list of nominees are as follows:

  • Paul Mullin – Wrexham AFC
  • Will Evans - Newport County
  • Ben Hinchliffe - Stockport County
  • Jodi Jones - Notts County
  • Davis Keillor-Dunn - Mansfield Town
  • Macaulay Langstaff - Notts County
  • Isaac Olaofe - Stockport County
