Words from the National League:
After missing out on the play-offs in recent seasons, Wrexham are dreaming big again thanks to their new manager.
Talk about hitting the ground running. Since being appointed in the summer Sam Ricketts has taken next to no time to get his feet under the table in north Wales.
Now sitting top of the fifth tier, October was a month Wrexham earned National League victories over Havant & Waterlooville, Dagenham & Redbridge and Hartlepool United.
Ricketts also did what no manager has done for three years at the Racecourse Ground - his side progressed to the first round of the FA Cup, defeating title rivals Harrogate Town over two sticky ties.
Ricketts has installed a winning formula at Wrexham and the Club are enjoying their best start to a season for some time.
Can Ricketts be the man to take Wrexham back to the fourth tier, ten years after they said goodbye?
Words From Wrexham AFC:
Samuel winning Manager of the Month for October 2018 marks a hat-trick of awards in the opening three months of the season from the Vanarama National League for Wrexham, after Akil Wright won player of the month in August and Kerry Evans (DLO) won volunteer of the month for September.
The players, staff, volunteers and supporters of Wrexham AFC would like to congratulate Samuel on gaining this award. We are extremely proud of you!
We spoke to director Spencer Harris who said: "Manager of the month is great recognition for Sam and his staff.
"It is a fitting award that recognises the hard work that goes on behind the scenes with the players.
"We have made an excellent start to the season and wish Sam, the staff and players every success for the remainder of the campaign."
