CLUB | Wrexham AFC Youth Department Chosen As Beneficiaries Tomorrow vs Ebbsfleet

Macclesfield Town
Posted:Fri 14 Sep 2018

Tomorrow’s collection at the game will be towards our own Wrexham AFC Youth Department run under the guidance of Dan Nolan.

You will see the kids who are the bright future of the game around the ground from 1:45pm until 2:45pm when they will need to go inside to take up their duties as our ball boys so please give generously!

It’s A Good Cause To Support

Why? Because we are producing talented young footballers and talented young people. In the last 12 months 4 of our players have gone on to represent Wales and numerous others have joined the regional development squads.

The hard work of the staff also is recognised by other clubs with 5 players transferring to Premier League Clubs in the last year alone! In the last couple of weeks the latest player off the conveyor belt Doug Tharme made his full first team debut helping the team to a clean sheet against Aldershot Town.

Head of Youth Dan Nolan said "I’d like to thank everyone who makes a donation tomorrow in advance. Our youth section currently runs 8 age groups teams from aged 9 through to 16's.

"If successful, the young players go on to represent Wrexham AFC youth team in the EFL Youth Alliance. As a department our 9-16's games programme has already visited Manchester United FC, Liverpool FC, Wolverhampton Wanderers FC with a trip to Derby County FC and games home and away against Stoke City FC before September finishes.

"All of this is invaluable for the players in their development both as footballers and young men. Every penny raised will help the continuation of our department so we can continue to produce players for our first team and beyond whilst remaining the foundation of this fantastic, community focused club."
