Wrexham Football Club are delighted to welcome Peter Gwyn Potatoes as our first ever sleeve sponsor.
Earlier this month, the Vanarama National League told member clubs that sleeve sponsorship could be attained for the 2018-19 season. Wrexham AFC commercial manager Geoff Scott has worked quickly to sign up Peter Gwyn Potatoes which will now see the companies logo appear on our shirts next season.
Wrexham based, Peter Gwyn Potatoes are a family run business, established in 1991 by Peter Gwyn and are currently celebrating their 27th year of trading.
They supply a variety of top quality potatoes to chip shops and the catering trade. Peter Gwyn's potatoes are sourced from all over the country during the summer when the new season potatoes start.
They use the best quality Shropshire and Cheshire potatoes from farms they have dealt with for over 20 years. Through the winter months they use the finest fryers from Lincolnshire and Cambridgeshire.
Wrexham AFC Commercial Manager Geoff Scott said of the new deal: "We are delighted that Peter Gwyn Potatoes have joined our sponsorship family. They are a fantastic local business who supply other businesses around North Wales.
"The league has changed their rules for this season and there was a lot of interest in this unique opportunity. Having a local business who can see a benefit from the sponsorship on the shirt was most important."
Peter Gwyn was at the Racecourse yesterday to confirm the deal where manager Sam Ricketts took time out after our first 2018-19 training session to thank him for his support.
Peter said: "I'm proud. I mentioned to Geoff Scott last year why they didn't do a sleeve sponsorship because the Premiership do it. I told him then if this ever come up we'd be interested.
"Our logo will now be seen by lot's of people. Especially on the replica shirts worn by the fans."
Of his business and the football club, he went on to say: "We have been trading in Wrexham for 27 years now and my two son's are involved in the business. We supply fish and chip shops and caterers all over North Wales as far as Anglesey and all of the coast.
"Being a family business it was important to us to be involved with a family football club. I have been attending games since I was about 10 years old and to see the players with my logo on their shirts will be special."
