Wrexham AFC would like to thank all of our supporters, staff and the local community for their incredible generosity in helping our Christmas Toy Appeal for North Wales Superkids.
Disability Liaison Officer Kerry Evans today donated 500 individual gifts on behalf of supporters and the Wrexham community to the Flint-based charity.
We are also delighted and so grateful for all supporters who gave generously towards North Wales Superkids’ JustGiving page to support the appeal.
North Wales Superkids’ founder Margaret Williams said, “Thank you all so much to anybody who has contributed towards the amazing donations Kerry has delivered. It has absolutely blown me away and I can’t thank you enough.
“It’s a very sad situation that families are finding themselves more and more and more in difficulties and being unable to provide Christmas for their children.
“There are so many knock-on effects from this and it’s really a very, very sad situation that in 2020 there are families faced with these situations.
“All families we support are genuinely families in dire straits. We’re not here to help get a bit more under the tree than they already have. We’re here for families in crisis. We’re here to ensure there are smiles on Christmas Day and not tears.”
North Wales Superkids has now been running for 21 years and deliver, in their words, ‘a smile in a bag at Christmas time’.
In 2019, they helped to support more than 1,700 individuals who would have otherwise gone without at Christmas.
Kerry Evans added: “Thank you to all Wrexham AFC supporters and the Wrexham community from the bottom of my heart.
“I’ve been blown away by the sheer volume of donations for this appeal. Your kindness is outstanding.
“North Wales Superkids is such a deserving cause, helping families in severe crisis to have a Christmas. I can’t say thank you enough.”
Any Wrexham supporters still wishing to support North Wales Superkids can do so via the charity’s JustGiving page, which is open for any donations.
