Wrexham AFC are proud to launch our Christmas Toy Box Appeal 2020, with donations welcome at the Club Shop from Monday November 9.
We have teamed up with North Wales Superkids, a small charity based in Flint who have been running for 21 years, and who make a huge difference to the lives of hundreds of disadvantaged children/young people across North Wales.
Wrexham AFC are appealing for donations of new and unwrapped gifts, to help make Christmas 2020 special for children who would otherwise have to go without.
North Wales Superkids use a tight criteria to ensure only the most in-need are supported. The criteria looks at the families’ overall situation, and takes into account numerous voluntary and statutory agencies. Superkids are set up to help families where Christmas would otherwise be cancelled due to their circumstances.
We are fully aware that, this year, the financial effects of the COVID-19 pandemic have impacted everyone in our community. Any donation of gifts for children would therefore be even more appreciated than ever by all involved.
Last year, North Wales Superkids helped 1,721 families – up from 1,616 the previous year.
Covering the whole of North Wales, this meant distributing nearly 18,000 new and unwrapped gifts suitable for ages 1-18. Superkids also supports 18-25-year-olds who are older siblings in families and care leavers who, having grown up in the system for various reasons, no longer have their own family around them.
After such a difficult year, Wrexham AFC are keen to ensure children don't go without this Christmas.
If you would like to get involved, please bring new and unwrapped gifts, suitable for ages 1-18, or 18-25, to the Wrexham AFC Club Shop from Monday November 9.
The final day for drop offs will be Monday December 7.
