Wrexham AFC are pleased to confirm young defender Max Cleworth has signed his first professional contract with the club.
Cleworth, 18, becomes the second of last season’s youth-team players to pen a one-year deal at the Racecourse, alongside Jake Bickerstaff.
Cleworth, like Bickerstaff, made his debut in the SPFL Tunnock’s Caramel Wafer Challenge Cup against Ayr United last season.
He also started against St Mirren Colts and Rangers Colts in the next two rounds of the competition, as well as playing at centre-back in the FA Trophy defeat to FC Halifax Town too.
Cleworth also featured on the bench for the first-team in the Vanarama National League last season and becomes the fifth player to sign a new, one-year deal at the Racecourse.
Mark Carrington, Paul Rutherford, Christian Dibble and Bickerstaff are also signed on for the season.
