The bucket collection on Boxing Day vs Salford City was organised by our club Disability Liaison Officer, Kerry Evans and all donations are going to the Wheelchair Accessible Away Travel.

The service was set up by Kerry this season to give wheelchair fans the chance to attend an away game.

We spoke to Kerry this afternoon, who said: "Along with the help of thirteen volunteers who kindly gave up their spare time on a Boxing Day, Gemma Hogan from the Media Team was also happy to help, and she even got Luke Young on board going around with a bucket."

Kerry put out an SOS for helpers and was overwhelmed by the response from fellow fans offering help on the day.

She said: "A whopping £1450.00 was raised, and every penny will be going towards offering more away game travel to our wheelchair fans next season.

"I would like to say a massive thank you to each and every volunteer on the day, you should feel very proud of the amount of money you helped to raise and without you it wouldn’t have been possible.

"Thank you to every single fan who donated money yesterday into those buckets. The fans support has been outstanding!"
