2012-2013 (Winners)

Wrexham would win the FA Trophy during this campaign as Morrell led the Dragons to a play-off and FA Trophy final for the first time in the clubs history.

The manager would rotate the side throughout the campaign, often using the reserves or youth players until the quarter-final stage.

Wembley twice will be remembered for the high of trophy victory and the gutting low of play-off final defeat.

Holders Wrexham failed to retain the FA Trophy the following season after a disappointing start to the league season which saw Morrell leave as manager in February 2014.

Morrell said at the time of the trophy exit at Luton “Wrexham as holders have gone out of the trophy in a whimper.

We didn’t turn up today and I’m hugely disappointed.” Wrexham had fielded a strong side while Luton elected to draft a mixture of reserve and first team players.
