FC Halifax Town 0-1 Wrexham
This week we flashback to a frantic evening on a muddy pitch at the Shay on Tuesday 10th February 2015.
It was the quarter-finals of the FA Trophy and a game Wrexham would win en-route to the final at Wembley Stadium.
Notibily, Kevin Roberts lined up against the Dragons that evening and delivered some fantastic balls into the box testing former goalkeeper Andy Coughlin.
Both sides carved out enough chances, with Wrexham probably having the better of the play.
Loanee Kieron Morris made a huge impact that season, he provided the early danger when his cross resulted in Andy Bishop's shout for a penalty that was waved away.
Minutes later, Connor Jennings got onto the end of Bishop's nod down, his miskick on the muddy surface was blocked, yet Wrexham were calling for another spot kick that was denied by the official.
17 minutes in and Jennings was at it again down the right hand flank. His shot was well blocked by Steve Williams but it was obvious Wrexham were in the ascendancy.
Luke Waterfall hit the crossbar moments later while Manny Smith's nod down from the resulting loose ball was blasted wide by Jennings.
Danny Hattersley headed just wide and failed to convert Kevin Roberts' cross-come-shot for the Shaymen before Wrexham delivered the killer blow.
Morris broke quickly over half way before playing in Rob Evans on the right, his pin-point cross was nicely side footed home by Neil Ashton for 0-1.
In the second half Coughlin wasn't able to gather Roberts' cross and luckily for Wrexham Manny Smith was on hand to clear, as ever!
Another Halifax free-kick came off Jennings' head and hit the crossbar as the Shaymen piled on the pressure. Also playing against the Reds that evening was Scott Boden, he had an effort saved by Coughlin on 85 minutes.
