Wrexham 1-0 Gateshead

We're not heading too far back in time for this week's 'Flashback' - just back to August this year when Wrexham came out on top at My Racecourse.

Loan signing Alex Reid scored on his debut to give Wrexham their first home win of the season against Gateshead.

Reid signed on a two-month deal which we announced less than two hours before the match and he came off the bench to claim the winner.

Goalkeeper Chris Dunn's fine save from Robbie Tinkler in stoppage time was as important to the result as Reid's strike.

This early result saw Wrexham to 10th, one place behind Gateshead on goal difference after four games.

As we go in to this weekend's festive encounter Wrexham are 4th while Gateshead are in 16th place, 13 points behind the Dragons.
