This morning, a group of amateur cyclists set out from Blackpool Tower via AFC Fylde and are heading on down to the Racecourse, as part of a grand charity ride. They are all AFC Fylde fans on their way to see Saturday’s match.
Day 1 - Blackpool Tower through Lytham to AFC Fylde & then onto Chester via Liverpool. This will be around 90 miles and as only three of us have cycled that far previously, this will be some challenge and a long day, let’s hope the weather is better than last year’s challenge!
Day 2 - They depart Chester in fancy dress and head over the border to Wrexham. The cyclists will be a bit battered and bruised, but with the money raised for charity they will get here.
There were 14 cyclists setting out on this adventure and they will have a support team with them. They are all looking forward to the ride and, of course, raising money for their two designated charities, which are:
Aiming Higher (Children's Disability on The Fylde Coast)
Dogs For Good (Assistance Dogs Nationwide)
They expect to arrive at Wrexham for around 10.30 on the morning of the game, with the Fylde supporters’ buses taking their bikes home afterwards.
Donations from Wrexham supporters would be very welcome and can be made via their JustGiving page:

This is the second year that the group have attempted such a venture, last season heading to Harrogate Town for the Coasters’ final away fixture in 2016/17.
We hope to have the ‘surviving’ cyclists on the pitch at half time to acknowledge their achievement in completing the ride.
