Wrexham midfielder Luke Young made history this evening by becoming the first Dragons player to become a two-time winner of the Steve Edwards Goal of the Season Award.
Following 5,000 or so votes across the competition, Young tonight took the honour with over 75% of the vote, beating second-placed Luke Summerfield whose long-range effort at Woking contested Young in the final.
Wrexham's Devon-born midfielder won the title during the 2018/19 season for a sensational screamer away to Dagenham & Redbridge and will now hold the title for another 12-months.
With the game deadlocked at 0-0 in the second half against then-top Bromley, a cushioned header from Paul Rutherford following a corner landed perfectly for Young who's volley sizzled into the top corner, marking it as one of the best goals seen at the Racecourse in recent memory.
Speaking following the result Young was once again grateful for the award and the supporters who voted for him.
"It's an honour to win this award for the second year running, I was up against some great goals this year so it wasn't going to be an easy vote!
"Thanks to all the fans that voted for me in each round and I hope everyone is keeping well during this difficult time".
