Wrexham AFC are pleased to unveil our new home kit to be worn for the 2018/19 season.
With kit manufacturers Macron designing once again for a third season, the stunning ‘Alphard’ strip was chosen by the club’s owners - you, the supporters.
The traditional red of Wrexham has a distinctive white V-neck and subtle horizontal stripes and will sport once again Ifor Williams Trailers as our front of shirt sponsor, whilst AEC Engineering continue their support on the back.
We will be complementing the shirt with new for 2018/19 white shorts, sponsored by Wrexham Lager and hooped red and white socks.
With all of these key ingredients, we’re sure that not only will the players look great out on the pitch, but supporters will stand proud both in the stands and around the world.
Available to supporters online and in store from Monday, 30th April 2018, the shirt will be priced at £39.99 for adult sizes and £34.99 for juniors, shorts will be £19.99 adults and £17.99 junior while the socks will be £9.99 adults and £7.99 for junior sizes.
Recent Weightlifting Commonwealth gold medal winner and Wrexham fanatic Gaz Evans dropped by, after returning from Australia’s Gold Coast to help us unveil the shirt.
He even had the energy and strength left to lift skipper Shaun Pearson!
Gaz, was watched by millions worldwide celebrating his gold medal moment all whilst wearing his Wrexham training top, with wild celebrations topping off his hero status.
“That was 20 years of graft and passion and it all came out at once!” he said.
“I packed both shirts, the Welsh national shirt and my Wrexham shirt, I wore the Wales strip to warm up and from then on it was Wrexham all the way!
“It’s fantastic to be here launching the new kit, and for me personally to be standing in the middle of the Cae Ras and be wearing the new kit with Shaun is nice.
“I’ve got my eyes on perhaps a retirement competition in Birmingham in 2020 but I lift out in Germany next year, I know there’s a bit of a fond following for Wrexham there now so the kit will be following me there as well”.
Club captain Shaun Pearson was present to model the new strip and was pleased with next season’s attire.
“I’m really impressed by it, it’s really nice and hopefully it brings us a bit of luck.
“It’s spot on, it was voted for by the fans so hopefully it’s popular with them and looks really good.
“From the club’s point of view it’s fantastic that our sponsors are sticking by us and supporting the club, that’s what you need when your lower down the pyramid where you need businesses to get behind us and sponsor”.
Richard Hughes of our main shirt sponsor Ifor Williams Trailers said “This is the third year running now and we feel that we have a strong link with the club.
“We have a lot of staff in all our factories who are passionate Wrexham supporters, watching the games both home and away, so we’re more than happy to continue the link.
“We have four sites in North East Wales in Cynwyd, Corwen, Sandycroft and on Deeside Industrial Estate and we like to strongly tie in to the local area, all of our workforce is local so we want to keep supporting the community.
“The club has a brilliant track record for youth sport with the boys and girls teams, which is another reason we are proud to partner the club again this year."
Mike Davies from Macron also added “I think it’s one of the best kits we’ve produced so far and I’m delighted Wrexham will be playing in it next season.
“From our point of view it’s tremendous to be involved with the club and I’m very passionate about what they’re doing, the fans are fantastic and behind the scenes they’ve been great to deal with.
“It won’t be long until the new season starts and hopefully it’ll be one to remember”.
Long standing sponsor Phil Salmon of AEC Engineering commented “It’s our fifth year in a row now, we’ve been fans of the club since 1967 and my son has been coming since 1993 and this way we’re carrying on the tradition of supporting our local club.
“It makes me very proud, and to see Gaz in Australia with the famous Wrexham shirt and see our logo on the back was an immensely proud moment”.
We’d like to thank all of our sponsors as well as manufacturer Macron for what is set to be a very popular design as well as to all the supporters who voted earlier this year.
