- Wrexham AFC launch the 2019-20 playing kit
- Ifor Williams Trailers extend front of shirt sponsorship
- Wrexham Lager extend shorts sponsorship
Wrexham AFC are pleased to unveil our new home kit to be worn for the 2019/20 season. As work is taking place on the playing surface at the Racecourse, the kit was launched at a very special place to Wrexham AFC, the Gresford Mining Disaster Memorial.
Gresford Colliery and the subsequent tragedy that took place are remembered each season by the club and its supporters. With the Racecourse out of action temporally, it was fitting that the iconic headgear wheel offered a beautiful and stunning backdrop for the launch.
With kit manufacturers Macron designing once again for a fourth season, the stunning ‘Alhena’ strip was chosen by the club’s owners - you, the supporters.
The shirt is in the traditional red of Wrexham and has a distinctive white neck trim with thin detailed vertical stripes. As we have already confirmed the shirts will sport AEC Engineering Ltd as the back of shirt sponsor and Peter Gwyn & Sons Potatoes as sleeve sponsor.
We are also delighted to welcome back Ifor Williams Trailers as front of shirt sponsors for the fourth season running. The company with strong links to the club has signed a new two-year sponsorship deal.
Also back for 2019-20 are Wrexham Lager who will be sponsoring our freshly designed white shorts (out soon and not pictured) that will be complimented by new bespoke white socks with a red trim (out soon and not pictured).
With all of these key ingredients, we’re sure that not only will the players look great out on the pitch, but supporters will stand proud both in the stands and around the world.
Shirts are available for supporters to purchase online and in store today, 17th May 2019, the shirt will be priced at £39.99 for adult sizes and £34.99 for juniors, shorts will be £19.99 adults and £17.99 junior while the socks will be £9.99 adults and £7.99 for junior sizes.
First team captain Shaun Pearson, Wrexham AFC Women midfielder Kim Dutton and academy graduates Jack Thorn and Matthew Sargent were on hand to model the kit for us.
Wrexham AFC Women will also wear the new kit next season and Kim was impressed with the design saying: “The shirts are really nice. It fits me really well and the new Macron logos look great.
“We are all really proud to wear the kit as we represent Wrexham AFC as a senior side. We’ve done really well in this our first season and we are hoping to cap it off in the next couple of games with another trophy and hopefully a promotion!”
Shaun Pearson was also impressed, he said: “I really like the kit. It’s a lot different to last seasons actually. The shirt looks great with all the logos on and we really appreciate the support from the local businesses.
“At this level, as a club, we need people like Ifor Williams, AEC Engineering, Peter Gwyn Potatoes and Wrexham Lager to get behind us. For them all to show such loyalty and come back again for another year, its fantastic.
“It’s great to see Kim and the two lads coming up from the Under 18’s, Matty and Jack in the kit too. All three of them have had great seasons and it’s fitting that they are here to do this launch with us today.”
Jack Thorn added: “The kit was voted in by the fans and that’s really important. I think they’ll like it even more when they see it in the flesh.”
Fellow graduate Matthew Sargent said: “Its fantastic to be launching a new kit and to be here today at such a local landmark. I like the kit a lot, its the first time I have worn it and it feels great.”
Wrexham AFC would like to also thank Gresford Colliery Sports & Social Club for allowing us to use their venue and for their kind assistance during the launch.
