Wrexham First Team

Olly Marx at Southport: Olly was an unused subsititute on Saturday when the Sandgrounders were beaten 0-1 by Nuneaton at the Merseyrail Community Stadium.

It was a "disjointed" showing according to manager Kevin Davies who made changes to his side with weather rearranged fixtures coming up in the back of his mind.

The goal was scored in the 26th minute through Daniel Nti, who was on trial at Wrexham under Kevin Wilkin a few years ago during preseason, his heavily deflected shot eventually found the back of the net.

This result see's the Port slip to 14th place in the Vanarama National League North table with a gap of 10 points to a 7th place playoff birth.

Southport are back in action on Tuesday evening away at 9th placed side Blyth Spartans.

It's a game in hand of sorts with nobody else playing that evening, victory could see Southport climb to 11th and close the gap to 7th placed York City.
