Doug Tharme at AFC Telford United: Telford have been in Vanarama National League North action twice since our last update. Last Tuesday evening they took on Kidderminster Harriers at the New Bucks Head and won all three points. Goals from Darryl Knights and Aaron Williams did the job in a 2-0 win, Doug came off the bench in the 58th minute. On Saturday they returned home to take on 'relegated by default' side Gateshead, who were without former Dragon and new signing Nicky Deverdics who is waiting for international clearance. It was a closely contested game that ended without a goal and with Doug being as an unused substitute. Doug and the Bucks are back in action tomorrow evening (Tuesday) when they travel to Hereford.

Matthew Sargent at Airbus UK Broughton: 18-year-old midfielder Matthew Sargent joined Airbus on-loan until January 2020 on Saturday with the deal goal through late in the day. The paperwork went through with just hours to spare ahead of their Welsh League Cup game at the Airfield against Llanfair United allowing the youngster to complete 90 minutes. It was an own goal in the first-half and three second-half goals from two former reds, Alex Darlington and Steve Tomassen, backed up by a debut strike from Sargent which gave the Wingmakers a 4-0 win. Airbus are back in action on Friday evening against Bala Town in their opening JD Cymru Premier game of 2019-20.

Jack Thorn at Newtown AFC: Another 18-year-old red who went out on loan last week was Jack Thorn. Jack signed with another JD Cymru Premier side in Newtown AFC who were also in Welsh League Cup action on Saturday afternoon. They beat Ammanford 2-0 at Latham Park with goals coming from Lifumpa Mwandwe and man of the match Sean McAllister. Former reds' strikers Nick Rushton and George Harry both started the game with Jack coming off the bench in the 68th minute for on of the goal scorers, Mwandwe. The Robins open their JD Cymru Premier campaign on Friday evening when they host Cefn Druids.
