Olly Marx at Southport: Last week we reported that defender Olly Marx made a loan switch to Southport for the rest of the season.

20-year-old Marx went out on loan earlier in the season to Rushall Olympic and was making a big impression on the side before picking up an injury against Mickleover Sports in an Evo-Stik Premier league match.

The tall centre-half landed awkwardly during a seeminly routine headed clearance and even carried on for a short time.

This foot injury saw him return from the midlands for treatment at the Racecourse and has kept him sidelined since late November 2017.

Olly is now looking to regain match fitness with the Sandgrounders but, he'll have to wait until Saturday as their game at York City was postponed at the weekend due to a waterlogged pitch.

No new date for the fixture has been announced.

Next up will be the visit of 17th placed side Alfreton Town on Saturday 24th March.

Southport are currently 8th in the Vanarama National League North and just a point behind Spennymoor Town who currently occupy the final playoff place in the table.
