The Dragons head to Greater Manchester this weekend for the second to last pre-season fixture, and the final game on the road until the new campaign kicks off.
Wrexham were in action on Wednesday evening with Sky Bet Championship outit Stoke City the visitors to the Racecourse. A 5th minute opener for Tyrese Campbell gave the Potters the lead before Bobby Grant's header restored parity, with JJ Hooper latching on to an Adam Federici error. In the second half a string of subs from the visitors lead to Wales international Sam Vokes netting a brace to win it. It followed on from a 2-0 win for Wrexham at AFC Telford United with Grant and Leighton McIntosh on the scoresheet.
As for Curzon, they've had a number of pre-season fixtures so far including two separate XI's against different opposition. On Tuesday one side drew 2-2 with Prescot Cables whilst another lost 5-1 at home to Crewe Alexandra. They've picked up wins this summer though over Stalybridge Celtic and Cheadle Town.
A number of players were given a full 90 minutes against Stoke City on Wednesday by manager Bryan Hughes with defenders Jake Lawlor and Shaun Pearson playing together for the first time since the end of the previous campaign. Lawlor has struggled with injury but to come through the full game was a huge positive for the Dragons.
Curzon have one former Wrexham player within their ranks having signed for the club this summer. Midfielder Danny O'Brien spent a brief spell on loan at the Racecourse in 2015 from Wigan Athletic. He's since departed the DW Stadium and has spells with Kraft and SJK in Finland and Alfreton Town.
Wrexham and Curzon Ashton have never met in competitive action.
Goalkeeper Rob Lainton and midfielder Devonte Redmond remain sidelined.
