Wrexham return to league action this weekend following progression in the FA Cup as Dean Keates seeks his sides' first away victory of the campaign.

Wrexham come into the game on the back of a 1-0 victory over Chesterfield in an FA Cup replay on Tuesday. JJ Hooper returned to the starting line-up for the first time since picking up an injury at the end of August and capped the occasion with the winning goal on the half-hour mark. It was Wrexham's first victory in three attempts against the Spireites in the space of seven days.

Dagenham's FA Cup run came to an abrupt end on Saturday losing out 2-1 to Isthmian League side Carshalton Athletic. After going a goal behind the Daggers levelled through Reece Grant, but on 84 minutes the lower league side re-stored control to take the scalp of a National League side in this seasons' competition.

Key Players

Dragons striker Hooper will be hoping he's shaken off the worst of his injury before a regular return to the starting XI. Upon his first start since August Hooper scored the winner on Tuesday, his third in all competitions.

Former Bristol Rovers forward Angelo Balanta has been in fine form so far this season bagging six goals in the campaign thus far. Having not played in the FA Cup on the weekend, a fresh legged Balanta will relish the opportunity to return to the pitch having last scored at the beginning of the month in a 1-1 draw with Barnet.

Head to Head

We last met in February 2019 with the Dragons coming out on top in a 1-0 win curtsy of a Stuart Beavon goal in the second half. We last travelled to Victoria Road in October 2018 with Wrexham once again coming out on top. Luke Young scored what would go on to be the goal of the season before Luke Summerfield's penalty ensured a 2-1 win in the English capital.

Team News

Wrexham remain without Manny Smith whilst captain Shaun Pearson will be looked at ahead of the weekend following a tight hamstring.
