Wrexham return to Scottish Challenge Cup action this weekend as we play host to St Mirren Colts at the Cae Ras.

Form

Wrexham come into the game on the back of a 1-1 draw in the National League at home to Harrogate Town on Tuesday. Bobby Grant gave Dean Keates the perfect start as manager with a goal after just five minutes. Grant had the oppurtunity to to double the lead from the spot on the hour mark but could only blaze his effort over the bar. With ten minutes remaining Harrogate, who'd come back into the game in the second period levelled with a smart finish from Ryan Fallowfield. Wrexham's last game in this competition was a 1-1 draw with Ayr United before heading through on penalties.

St Mirren Colts made their way to the fourth round after a Cameron McPherson goal saw off Stirling Albion at the Simple Digital Arena. Goalkeeper Dean Lynnes saved a penalty in the first half and the Young Buddies saw their way through to the next round.

Key Players

Dragons boss Keates could see this as a chance to see certain players perform who didn't get their chance on Tuesday night. Goalkeeper Rob Lainton may well make his first appearance of the season as he returns from injury. Leighton McIntosh could start his first game since the previous round of this competition.

The Colts will all see this as a huge opportunity for what for many will be their first competitive game outside of Scotland. St Mirren are the only side other than Celtic and Rangers with Elite status for Scottish Academies.

Head to Head

Would you believe it, this is our first-ever meeting with St Mirren Colts...

Team News

Goalkeeper Lainton could return whilst JJ Hooper and Manny Smith remain sidelined. Mark Carrington missed out through injury in mid-week and may well not be in contention this weekend.
