Wrexham AFC Media Team is a ‘not for profit’ voluntary group of people interested in sports media activities. The team completes all of Wrexham Football Club’s media functions.
We aim to help students on media courses and have a track record of honors results, putting them directly in to full-time employment based upon their experience with us. Also, we give people who have an interest in media with a chance to experience and enjoy a ‘real life’ sports media environment.
The Media Team update the club website, all social media channels, provide commentary home and away via mixlr and Calon FM, produce all of the club’s video content on YouTube (as well as produce and edit for the BT Sport Highlight Show), complete marketing and media campaigns for the football club, manage the PA Announcers and scoreboard, provide internal and external match data and analytics as well as many other tasks to make a match day run smoothly.
The team do not receive any budget from the football club and purchase all of the equipment necessary themselves to ensure they can provide supporters with a good quality and professional product.
At this time, after considering feedback from supporters, the media team are in desperate need of updated equipment, including microphones, cameras, leads and computers. We have started to sell advertising slots on our commentary and video service to help, but we ask that anyone who enjoys our content could be so kind to donate something to our bucket collectors on Saturday – it would be a huge help!
The team have collected for the hospital radio broadcast in previous years, although these days the hospital station tune in for their commentary via our new broadcast partner, Calon FM. Previous collections have helped pay for our old IDSN phone line, new headphones and mixers to keep the service afloat.
