Continuing our annual and extremely successful “Bring A Tin” initiative, Wrexham fans are invited to join the players and bring along non-perishable foods to the Maidenhead United game at The Racecourse this Saturday, 2nd December.
All food donations will be used as emergency food for local people in crisis.
The foodbank especially needs things like (tins of) tomatoes, rice pudding, coffee and Christmas pudding.
Wrexham Supporters’ Trust volunteers will be on hand at the Club Shop, in the Turf car park and at the Mold Road exit of the University car park (by the speed camera) from 1:30pm.
The Trust will be running a Twitter and Facebook campaign to draw attention to the collection and the important work of the foodbank.
Over the last three years we have collected in excess 1,500kg of food.
Providing nutritionally balanced emergency food and support to local people who are referred to the food bank in crisis, doesn’t come cheap.
Funded by churches and local community groups, Wrexham Foodbank needs to raise in the region of £10,000 to cover the annual running costs of such a valuable service.
To help raise funds, Wrexham AFC also provided the Wrexham Foodbank with the opportunity to hold a bucket collection at our last home game againsty Solihull Moors.
Please, if you can spare some loose change or to drop off food, pop to one of the collection posts in and around the ground. Volunteers will be available before, during and after the game.
