OPEN DAY | What's On At The 2017 Open Day?

Wrexham AFC are holding our annual open day on Sunday 30th July 2017. Gates between the Centenary Club and the Club offices at 10am and will close at 1pm, when there will be a question and answers session with Dragonheart radio presenter Kinglsey Evans, questioning manager Dean Keates; Football Club Director and Trust Board member Spencer Harris, and others.
There will be no training session, and we ask all fans to please stay off the re-seeded pitch as it continues to strengthen in time for the first game of the season v. Macclesfield Town. However, fans will be able to walk around the stadium at their leisure, and will be able to meet the players as they do for autographs and photo opportunities.
You will also have the opportunity to purchase the brand new second kit that is being launched in the Club Shop on the day.
Fans will be able to take in the BKoncepts Stand starting at the players tunnel; visiting the home dressing room, which will be made out as per match day. The away dressing room and the referee’s room; You will also have the opportunity to watch our Physio Phil Davies giving treatment to any players that will need it on the day; Sports Scientist Nick Barnett will also demonstrating his work at the club and how the players new GPS kit works. Football Analyst Liam Partyn will also be showing how the work he does has benefits on how the team’s tactics are considered.
Fans can then go upstairs where they will be welcomed in the Board room by Football Club Director Spencer Harris; and Supporters Trust independent secretary Alan Fox who can answer your questions on both the Football Club and the Supporters Trust. Fans can also view the honours Boards and the trophy cabinets.
The next room to visit will be the Match Day Guest room for scouts from other club’s, but doubles up after the match as to where players are interviewed for their thoughts on the game by our media team. The Media team will be on hand to this time interview you, the fans, and ask for your thoughts on the forthcoming season.
Finally, a visit to Bamfords where you can view the Hall of Fame of all all the great players and managers of this proud club. Trust Board member Sarah Smith-Howard will be on hand to tell you about the match day hospitality that is available in Bamfords on match day.
On the other side of the ground in the Mold Road stand, fans will be able to view the mural that was put up in our 150th Anniversary year, and look at the history boards that are placed on the concourse.
You can then visit the next level where the DSA Platform is now situated, and members of the Disabled Supporters Association will be on hand to talk to fans about the work that they do, and recruit volunteers to help out on match day.
Next to the DSA platform you can view a hospitality box that will be made out as per match day. Downstairs you can visit the 1864 suite that will also be made out as per match day, and where new Trust Board member Mark Jones will be on hand to explain the match day routine and sell tickets for forthcoming games. Upstairs in the Control Room Match Day Safety Officer Martin Bradley will also be on hand to explain to fans what his role is within the ground on match day.
On top of all this in the club park their will be a number of stalls and exhibitions with live music from The Colombians and Luke Gallagher.
Those also in attendance will be the Fire Brigade; the Racecourse Community Foundation game; the Disabled Supporters Association Football team; an Ice Cream Van; Country Spice; Just Deserts; Trevor Scrumptious; Tamlet Fair ride; Duck Stall; Former Players Association; Supporters Trust and Junior Dragon’s membership team.
