Wrexham AFC are pleased to announce some more details regarding our pre-season tour in Portugal taking place from the 9th to the 12th of July, 2018.
This year there is a confirmed booking at the 30,305 seat capacity Estádio Algarve located near the town of Almancil.
The impressive stadium was completed in time for the Euro 2004 Tournament where it hosted two group games and a quarter-final match between Sweden and the Netherlands.
The match will be held on Wednesday, 11th July 2018 with a 7pm kick-off. (Kick off time is subject to change)
We are also absolutely delighted to confirm we will be once again playing a match against our new friends Louletano DC.
Along side this we are also happy to announce that we will be providing club coach transport from the town's of Vilamoura and Albufeira to the stadium on match day.
This year Match and Travel tickets will be on-sale from the club prior to departure and details for these will be announced very shortly.
Football club Commercial Manager Geoff Scott said of the latest information: "Macron have a confirmed booking at the Estádio Algarve this year. Due to Euro qualifiers taking place last year at the stadium it was a bit up in the air about the match venue when we announced the trip and we ended up playing in Loulé.
"Obviously, it was Macron's plan for us to play at this fantastic stadium last year. It was nobody's fault, but we were naturally a little bit disappointed that we couldn't play in the big stadium last time, so this will really make up for it"
Talking of the ticketing and travel arrangments, he said: "This year we are delighted to play the match at the stunning Estádio Algarve and there will be match tickets made available very soon.
"Last year was a big learning curve for everyone involved. We soaked in all of the information and reflected on it once we arrived home. We realised that providing club coach travel on match day to and from the resorts would make a lot of sense.
"We are really happy to offer our supporters transport to and from Vilamoura and Albufeira on match day this year."
On Louletano DC, Media Manager Carl Hogan said: "We are extremely delighted to play Louletano DC again. They were fantastic last year.
"We have been following their progress closely and they've had a fairly decent season after a bit of a slow start to their campaign. So it should be a really good match all things considered and we'll have to see how our lads cope with the heat!"
