We have been contacted by the family of Lionel Parry to ask if we could pass on funeral details, following his sad death last week.
The service will be held this coming Thursday, 4 July – 1.30pm at Holy Trinity Church, Gwernaffield, Mold CH7 5DT.
A season ticket holder for nearly eight decades, Lionel will be well known to many fans and the family are inviting any supporters who might wish to do so, to attend the service.
As a member of the Mold & District Reds, they paid the following tribute to Lionel:
“Mold and District Reds are extremely saddened to hear of the passing of one of our members, Lionel Parry.
“Lionel was husband to Megan, father to Jan, grandfather to Jamie, Ben and Morgan and the father-in-law of ex-Wrexham player Jon Cross.
“He was a season ticket holder at Wrexham AFC for an incredible 78 years.
“One of the first members of the Mold and District Reds when we started back in July 2007 and regularly attended meetings with his good friend, the late Colin Bithell, as well as away games on our coaches.
“Lionel was a true Wrexham AFC fan, only recently missing games due to ill health. Sadly, he passed away at home at 5.30pm on Saturday, 22nd June.
“He will be sorely missed by all his family, as well as his Wrexham AFC friends and everyone at the Mold and District Reds.”
The club can only echo the words above and we pass on our sincere condolences to his family and friends.
