In the last week or so Wrexham's youth and women's side have been as busy as ever in competative action and preparations for things to come. The young Dragons have been back in action once more whilst our female side have been looking forward to the new season and their final summer preparations.
Our youth side were back in action last weekend as they travelled to face Wigan Athletic in the EFL Youth Alliance North West. The Latics took the lead through Charlie Jolley from the penalty spot before the reds levelled from the penalty spot through Cameron McGregor. However, it would be a difficult afternoon as Wigan netted five more, including Jolley completing a hatrick to hand victory to the home side.
Now Wrexham host Bury this weekend in the EFL Northern Cup Group stage, kicking off at 11am.
The women's side weren't in action last weekend but have remained busy as they prepare to enter the North Wales Women's League in September. Earlier in the week they focused on committing players to next season and sizing kit so that every player and coach is able to fully ready themselves for their debut season.
On the pitch they will be crossing the white line once more in a pre-season friendly this Sunday. Luke Wynne will take his side on the road to face Denbigh Town to follow on from their 2-2 draw with Airbus UK Broughton just over a week ago. This weekend's game kicks off at 13:00 and will be played at Central Park, home of Denbigh Town FC.
