The Shropshire Reds welcomed Wrexham AFC's new manager Sam Ricketts to there Annual General Meeting on Monday evening.

Shreds treasurer Brian Davies handed over a cheque to Sam for £1,500 towards the cost of the GPS System that the club purchased last season.

Sam discussed his plans for the team next season and the potential he feels our club has.

He's more than happy with the way his first three weeks have gone and is confident he can attract the right type of player that he wants to build a successful team.

With this in the mind the Shropshire Reds members, on top of the money for the GPS System, agreed to donate £5,000  to the Build The Budget fund.

Shreds chairman John Humphreys said: "Every one at the meeting was very impressed with our new manager and we unanimously agreed to support Sam in his plans to bring ìn the players he wants to the club by making this donation.

"We wish him well in his recruitment over the summer to bring us the successful team that we all wish to see."
