Wrexham AFC are delighted to confirm the signing of utility man James Horsfield on a one-year contract.
Horsfield has been training with the club since the return of action, playing against Cefn Druids, Salford City XI and AFC Telford United as a trialist.
And the former Manchester City academy graduate has now put pen to paper on a permanent switch to the Racecourse, having first impressed on loan last season.
Horsfield made a big impression in his loan deal with Wrexham last season, despite only playing three matches before suffering a serious knee injury.
And Horsfield is delighted to be back at the Racecourse, after what he admitted had been a difficult time.
“I was obviously here last season and I just wanted to come back,” he said. “I really enjoyed my time here and I’m really glad to be back.
“Don’t get me wrong, it was a horrible injury and it was a tough time for me because I loved what I did.
“I love playing football and when that’s taken away from you, you lose a massive part of your life.
“I’m so glad to be back. I feel really good, I feel sharp, I feel fit so I’m just buzzing to get going.
“There’s a lot of new faces from when I was here, and I was obviously just getting to know those lads. Now there’s a whole new set, and they seem a great bunch of lads. I’m just buzzing to be here.”
