- Wrexham AFC have signed right-back James Horsfield on-loan
- James joins the Dragons from league two side Scunthorpe United
- The signing is subject to international clearance
Wrexham AFC can confirm the loan signing of right-back James Horsfield from league two side Scunthorpe United, initially for one month.
The 24-year-old is a product of the Manchester City academy, spending time out on loan from City with Doncaster Rovers and NAC Breda of Holland while he continued his development.
The Stockport born full-back went on to sign for Scunthorpe during the summer of 2018 before spending the latter stages of last season out on loan with Dundee in the SPFL Championship.
Wrexham AFC have submitted the paperwork with the view of having James available for Saturday’s FA Cup game at Chesterfield.
Manager Dean Keates said: “James will be a good addition to the squad and he will certainly add competition for places in two areas. He can play at full-back or in the centre of midfield, so he’ll give me options going forward.”
He added: “I’m looking forward to working with James as we look to freshen things up a little bit and get the team moving up the league table.”
