In our last communication on Tuesday 17th March we promised to come back to supporters with an update following the Wrexham AFC Club Board meeting.
We can confirm that we have been in constant contact with the National League over the last few days. Following on from the decision of the Premier League and EFL to suspend football until at least the 30th April 2020.
At this stage the National League are not able to confirm to us their stance on the resumption of the league programme until after a meeting which will take place on Tuesday 24th March with the English FA.
There is also an online conference meeting which will include representatives of National League System Clubs at Step 5 and 6.
As a result of the ongoing implications of minimising social contact and the uncertainty about this year’s league programme, at the Board Meeting last night we made the following decisions:
- To temporarily close the Club Shop as of Monday 23rd March until further notice
- Shop Staff will be repurposed to other activities, however there will be a separate announcement regarding the ticket refund process for the away match at Barrow and the forthcoming Wales Internationals
We continue to urge all supporters not to contact the club directly at this time and watch for announcements via our website and social media outlets as we will be unable to deal with large volumes of calls.
We hope everyone in the Wrexham AFC family is safe and continues to look after each other.
As a club we’ve faced many battles in our 150 plus year history and this is another one and if we stick together we can come out the other side stronger.
The Board of Wrexham AFC.
