Trialist Ferdinand Takyi has signed non-contract forms with the club and his International Clearance has been received in time for him to be eligible for tomorrow’s Buildbase FA Trophy tie.
Therefore, he goes into the squad to face the Yorkshire based club at the Racecourse (3.00pm).
The German born striker is 23-years-old and has played for a several clubs in his homeland after coming through the ranks with Eintracht Braunschweig.
This brought him to the attention of selectors in Ghana and he has represented them at U19 level.
Ferdinand has also played in Latvia with current champions FK Spartaks, including several games in the 2015/16 Europa League.
Moving to the UK, as he has family in the London area, he has had trials with AFC Wimbledon, Grimsby Town, Yeovil Town, Reading and West Bromwich Albion – playing an U23 game for the Baggies as a trialist.
He has been with the Reds for the last few weeks training, having played a couple of games for Bognor Regis Town in the Vanarama South this season, and now manager Dean Keates would like to see him in competitive action.
