- Left-back Jamie Reckord, 28, signs a one-year deal at Wrexham AFC
- The former Solihull Moors man is the first new signing of the 2020-21 season.
Wrexham AFC are delighted to confirm the first new signing of the 2020-21 season, as we welcome left-back Jamie Reckord to the club.
The 28-year-old has signed a one-year deal with the club and will link up with his new team-mates for the first day of pre-season training on Monday, August 17.
Reckord joins after two-and-a-half years with Solihull Moors, during which time he made 90 league appearances and scored three goals – including one against Wrexham last season.
The former Wolverhampton Wanderers academy graduate has also spent time with several Football League clubs, most recently Oldham Athletic – who he left to head to Damson Park.
On joining Wrexham, Reckord said: “The gaffer persuaded me to come here, and I couldn’t say no to a club like this. It’s a big fanbase, a big stadium and I can’t wait to get started.
“The ambition at a club like this always has to be promotion. That will be the ambition every season, so hopefully we do a lot better than last season.”
Reckord also revealed he has been busy over lockdown staying on top of his fitness, and is raring to hit the ground running.
“I keep active every day,” he added. “Even with lockdown, I was still trying to go out, running, hiking and doing home workouts. That wasn’t an issue for me.”
