The BBC lead their Wrexham AFC page with the 3-1 victory over Gateshead in the Vanarama National League on Saturday afternoon. 

The National League Website carry a 'crowd pleasers' article with the top attendances from the weekend. Wrexham v Gateshead came out on top with 4,421 in attendance - the next highest was Harrogate Town v Chesterfield with 2,291. Also, defender Jake Lawlor and midfielder Luke Summerfield both made the league's 'team of the weekend'. 

The Northern Echo were at the Racecourse to watch the side they cover beaten 3-1 by Wrexham. They said: "The Welsh side are now firmly established as one of the favourites to win promotion to the Football League this season."

Huddersfield Town confirmed earlier that on-loan striker Rekeil Pyke has signed a new contract with the Premier League side through until the summer of 2020. Rekeil has scored five goals in ten games since joining us in the summer. 

The Weston Mercury look ahead to their sides Emirates FA Cup first round match against the Dragons at the weekend. 

Locally, the Leader and the Daily Post both covered today's Emirates FA Cup press conference held at the Racecourse ahead of Sunday's first round trip to Weston-Super-Mare.
