After the Under 18's dramatic cross-border derby in the FA Youth Cup against Chester last week they were back in EFL Youth Alliance (North West) action yesterday afternoon.

They travelled to bottom side Accrington Stanley U18's with both sides looking to pick up their first three points of the season, with the game switched from the grass pitch at Burnley United to a 3G, due to the heavy rain.

Dan Nolan's side were beaten by a single second-half goal scored by Stanley's Charlie Ridge, who finished off a breakaway following a Wrexham corner.

This result see's Accrington remain bottom of the pile with Wrexham a place above them in 13th.

Wrexham AFC Under 18's are back in action on Friday afternoon at Stansty Park (1pm kick-off), when they take on 11th placed side Carlise United Under 18's.
