The club has received notification from the National League U19 Alliance, that all divisions of the youth league are to be decided by ‘Points Per Game’ (PPG), which has seen the table topping young Reds crowned as champions of the geographical Division H.
Congratulations to Dan Nolan and all our youth team squad on what was a tremendous first campaign in the U19 Alliance – as we finished with 12 wins from 15 games, one draw and just two defeats.
Even more impressive was our goals tally of 73 scored (averaging just under 5 goals per game) and only 14 conceded for a goal difference of +59. All of which were divisional bests.
We finished the season on 37 points, the same as Warrington Town (who had played two more games). with Stockport County next on 36 points from 15 games.
Tight on our tail were both City of Liverpool (33 pts from 18 games) and Rochdale (32 pts from 14 games).
The end of season was building up to an exciting finale before the lockdown meant all leagues were brought to a sudden halt.
The league will also send us medals to forward onto the players and then present a trophy to the club at a safe time.
Congratulations to all the individual U19 Alliance league winners and we now look forward to the new season, when it is safe for play to recommence.
