Pre-season training has begun for the Wrexham AFC youth team, with Head of Youth Dan Nolan now back off furlough.
A young squad will be bidding to build on the success of last season’s team, who were crowned division champions in their first campaign in the National League U19 Alliance.
Wrexham AFC would also like to congratulate former youth team captain Bobby Beaumont, who has left the club and signed his first professional contract with Sunderland.
The Wales Schoolboys captain, son of former Wrexham defender Nigel, joined the Wrexham AFC academy at under-13 level and progressed rapidly through the ranks. He went on to make his senior debut last season.
Bobby played against St Mirren Colts and Rangers Colts in the SPFL Tunnock’s Caramel Wafer Challenge Cup matches.
On the former youth team captain’s move to Sunderland, Dan Nolan said: “Bobby was a model student and player during his time in the Centre of Excellence.
“He deserves his success because of the excellent attitude he showed during his time with the club, and I’d like to wish him the best of luck for the future.”
