Young midfielder Brad Walker joined Wrexham in August 2018 on loan from Crewe Alexandra

Billingham-born Walker began his career in the youth team with Hartlepool United before working his way to earning a professional deal in June 2013.

He made his debut for the Monkey Hangers in August 2013 against Rochdale and scored his first goal in a 1-1 draw with Burton Albion.

After becoming a first-team regular for the Pools he was nominated for Football League apprentice of the year in 2014, picking up the accolade a day after scoring in a 4-0 win over Bristol Rovers.

After making over a century of appearances for Hartlepool he joined Crewe on a 2-year deal to remain in the EFL following United’s relegation to the National League. He made 33 appearances for the Alex during his first season scoring twice.

In August 2018 after appearing once for Crewe during 2018/19 he made a temporary switch to North Wales to join Wrexham on loan.

Walker made his Wrexham debut away at Braintree Town – a game in which the Dragons won 1-0 in Essex – before marking his first home game in spectacular style brushing aside Ebbsfleet United 4-1.

Brad opened his account for his new side at the end of October 2018 from the penalty spot to put Wrexham ahead away to Chesterfield.

In January 2019 Walker returned to Crewe having made 20 appearances in all competitions scoring four goals.

His impressive displays with the Dragons earned him a move to League One side Shrewsbury Town where he was immediately loaned back to Wrexham until the end of the 2018/19 campaign.
