Switzerland born Omotayo began his career playing youth team football for FC Zurich in his native country, where his first steps in the game came not looking to put the ball into the back of the net, but trying to keep it out as a goalkeeper.
In 2014 he moved outfield and had spells with Swiss lower-division sides FC Schlieren and Wettswil-Bonstetten before landing in England with non-league Whitehawk in 2017.
Omotayo scored nine goals in just 16 games for the Hawks in the National League South which earned him a move to Bury where he signed professional terms in the summer of 2018.
He made his Shakers debut in August 2018 where he scored the winner in a 1-0 victory over Yeovil Town. In October 2018 he was loaned out to Maidstone United where he scored once in five games.
The forward made a total of 13 appearances in League Two for Bury that season whilst also featuring in the EFL Trophy and in August 2019 he made a permanent move to Yeovil Town, who had been relegated to the National League.
His Glovers debut came on the season opener, a 3-1 victory over Notts County and he bagged his first goal against Halifax, bagging a brace in August 2019.
He departed Huish Park at the end of the season and in October 2020 signed a short-term deal with FC Halifax Town. His debut came against Dagenham in the late season opener. Omotayo would make just five appearances for the Shaymen.
In February 2021 he signed for National League North league leaders Gloucester City making his debut against Chorley and scoring a glancing header. However, due to the ongoing Coronavirus pandemic, the season was voided before making any further appearances.
He joined Wrexham on trial in April 2021 signing non-contract terms and made his debut a day later against Stockport County, coming off the bench.
