Winger Jack Mackreth joined the Dragons for an undisclosed fee in the summer of 2017 as part of the Keates overhaul.

The scouse midfielder began his career with Tranmere Rovers as part of the youth team in 2008 where he spent two years and spent time on loan with Cammell Laird.
He graduated in 2010 but failed to make an appearance having appeared on the bench four times.  In 2011 he joined Barrow playing 44 league games in a single season at Holker Street.
In 2012 he joined Macclesfield Town spending two seasons and making 78 appearances. He later had spells with Grimsby Town and second stints with Tranmere Rovers and Macclesfield.
In 2017 Mackreth joined Bury where he made three appearances, and was loaned out for a third spell with Macclesfield. 
In the summer of 2017 he made the switch from Gigg Lane to the Racecourse, signing a one-year deal.
